CLIFTON PARK - Bar­bara Ann Cassella, 75, of Han­cock Way died Tues­day June 12, 2018 sur­rounded by her lov­ing fam­ily at Di­a­mond Hill Nurs­ing and Re­hab Cen­ter. Born in Troy she was the daugh­ter of the late John and Kathryn Reilly Her­ran. Bar­bara was a 1959 grad­u­ate of Catholic Cen­tral High School. She re­ceived her Bach­e­lor of Arts De­gree from Rus­sel Sage Col­lege, a Mas­ter’s De­gree in Ed­u­ca­tion and a Mas­ter’s De­gree in Guid­ance Coun­sel­ing from SUNY Al­bany. Bar­bara was em­ployed at Shaker High School for 5 years be­fore re­tir­ing 16 years ago. Prior to that she had taught at CCHS, St. Au­gus­tine’s School in Lans­ing­burgh and Aver­ill Park Mid­dle School. She was a mem­ber of NYSUT. A com­mu­ni­cant of St. Au­gus­tine’s Church in Lans­ing­burgh she had served as a Eucharis­tic Min­is­ter there and had been ac­tive in St. Au­gus­tine’s School Mother’s Club while he sons were stu­dents at the school. She was an As­so­ciate of the Sis­ters of St. Joseph of Caron­delet in Latham. She is the lov­ing wife of Joseph L. Cassella and de­voted mother of An­thony Michael Cassella of Clifton Park and Do­minic Joseph Cassella (Elis­a­beth) of Niskayuna. She is the sis­ter of Matthew Heeran ( Peggy) of North Greenbush and proud grand­mother of Joseph D. and An­thony G. Cassella. Sev­eral nieces and neph­ews also sur­vive. Fu­neral ser­vices will be Satur­day at 11:15 am from the Philip J. Bren­dese Fu­neral Home, 133 Broad St. ( Rte.32), Water­ford and at noon at St. Au­gus­tine’s Church. In­ter­ment will be in St. Mary’s Ceme­tery, Water­ford. Rel­a­tives and friends may visit at the fu­neral home on Fri­day from 4-8 pm.
