SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Following its big screen premiere in the Spa City last month, locally produced children’s show “The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red” is making its internet debut on Amazon this Friday.

The six- episode series, produced by Saratoga Springs company Trident Fantasy Films, will be available for the world to view beginning June 15 on Amazon Prime.

The show, starring reallife sisters Demetra and Callista Zorbas of Colonie, is a magical live action fairy tale about two girls who live in an enchanted forest and have adventures with their classic fairy tale friends.

With support from the community, the series was filmed in the Capital Region, with many locations right in Saratoga Springs. “The Saratoga region has giving us such rich talent, beautiful landscape and locations to film and a fan base that is growing bigger every day,” said Nicole Coady, creator of the show’s concept.

Prior to this online release, a group of local eventgoers got a sneak peek when “The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red” premiered on Memorial Day weekend at Bow Tie Cinemas in Saratoga Springs. This red carpet event included a meet and greet with the local cast members.

“Being at the red carpet premiere for The Adventures of Snow White and Rose Red, was a dream come true,” said Callista, who plays Rose Red. “I felt both nervous and extremely excited - from f lashing cameras to watching myself on the big screen. It was magical!”

Her sister Demetra, Snow White, described the premiere as surreal. “I loved the whole experience, seeing our show on the big screen and taking lots of photos with our fans and supporters. I didn’t want it to end.”

The production team, including Coady, Katie Spass, Andrew Balog of Trident Fantasy Films can’t wait for the show to be available to the public.

“We’re really excited to share our show with children,” Coady said. “This is the kind of TV show I wished existed when my daughter was younger - sweet, heart- centered and with a nice moral lesson at the end of each episode.”

It’s been a dream of Coady’s to create a show that parents can feel comfortable allowing their children to watch. She continued, “There’s nothing snarky, sarcastic or inappropriate about it, so I’m hopping parents will feel really good about allowing they children to watch our show and that kids will just love it.”

The running time of the short episodes was also in- tentional with parents in mind. As a mom, Coady doesn’t want her daughter watching too much TV. “So a fifteen minute show is a perfect length to allow a child to watch a little television and then hopefully go and play outside, read a book, do some art work — whatever makes them happy that doesn’t involve a screen!”

Coady is aiming for viewers to feel joyful, like the world is a fun place to live in and explore, upon watching The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red. “I want kids to follow the model Snow & Rose set of being kind, helpful and thoughtful to each other and the interesting people they meet in the world. I love that our Cinderella character shows that you can be a very kind and loving person, but also stick up for yourself and that everyone should be treated with respect. Finally, I want everyone to see how all the young ladies in the show support each other, help one another and offer one another kindness - I don’t think we see girl characters doing that enough in the media.”

The ultimate goal for the Trident Fantasy Films production is twofold, Coady said. “One is to spread some light and love to families who watch the show, to model great values so that our kids have some positive role models to emulate,” she said. Secondly, from a business standpoint, the producers we would love for a lot of people to watch the show so they can make a Season Two. “There are so many more fun stories we’d love to see Snow & Rose in,” Coady said. “So we hope that people who tune in and enjoy the show will share it with their friends and family and help spread the word.”

Trident Fantasy Films loves filming in the local area, and hopes to keep bringing production to the region, Coady said. “We think Saratoga Springs, with the right financing in place, could become a major film and television production hub in the state of New York.”

A trailer for “The Adventures of Snow White & Rose Red” is already available for viewing on Amazon, and the full series will go live on Friday.
