Man charged with attempted murder
TROY, N.Y. » A city man has been charged with attempted murder, police said
D’Andre L. Jones, 37, of 151 President St., was charged with second- degree attempted murder, first- degree assault, second- degree assault, thirddegree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree menacing, and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned and sent to the Rensselaer County Jail.
Police said Jones was arrested after stabbing a woman Wednesday.
Police previously said that around 12:23 p. m. Wednesday officers on patrol to a call had their attention drawn to a man — Jones — chasi ng a woman on Hill Street. Police said officers observed the unidentified woman bleeding and leapt from their patrol vehicle to assist her.
The female was helped by officers as Jones fled on foot. Police said officers pursued Jones to 8 Trenton St. in south Troy, where Jones barricaded himself inside of a room.
After a period of time, Jones came out peacefully, police said.
The female victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
