Cohoes- Cierra Nara Sweet 23, formerly of Raymertown and more recently Cohoes, died suddenly, Sunday, October 28, 2018 after being stricken at her residence. Born in Niskayuna, January 3, 1995, Cierra was the daughter of Edward and Eva (Coon) Sweet, both of Raymertown, and the mother of Alli Rei McLoughlin of Melrose. Cierra was a graduate of Tamarac High School’s Class of 2013. For several years she worked with her grandmothe­r as a baker and cake decorator and was the coowner and operator of the Pretty Sweet Bake Shop in Averill Park. Cierra was an accomplish­ed equestrian and as a former member of the Berkshire Morgan Youth Club loved riding Morgan horses both at home and in competitio­n. She was a skilled artist and photograph­er and pursed these arts in her free time. This artist flair fueled her passion and creativity in decorating cakes and baked goods. In addition to her parents and daughter, Cierra is survived by her loving sisters, Ashley and Taylor Sweet, both of Raymertown, her paternal grandparen­ts, Pauline and Larry LaPoint of Averill Park, maternal grandmothe­r, Teruko Coon of Voorheesvi­lle and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 1:003:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, in Raymertown. A memorial service and burial will be held privately at the convenienc­e of the family. At the request of Cierra’s family, rather than floral gifts, please consider a making a contributi­on to benefit the “Alli Rei McLoughlin Educationa­l Fund,” at any Cap/Com Federal Credit Union branch, in memory of Cierra N. Sweet.
