SARATOGASP­RINGS, N.Y.>> The title of New York State girls soccer champion comes with hardware on the day of the title, but even more accolades are pouring in for the Stillwater Warriors team.

Stillwater junior attack Brooke Pickett was named the New York State Sportswrit­ers Class C Player of the Year and along with her, Stillwater Coach Christina Ihnatolya, announced Sunday night.

Warriors teammates, sophomore midfielder Keelyn Peacock and attack Teya Staie

were also named to as firstteam selections, along with Pickett.

Bethlehem Central senior attack Grace Hotaling led Section 2 Class AA, named to the NYSSWA first-team squad.

Also selected in Class AA were Niskayuna junior attack Olivia Piraino and seventh-grade attack Claire Hutton as secondteam selections.

Saratoga’s senior attack Julia DiMenna was a thirdteam selection, joined by Shenendeho­wa senior Jen Kirker on the fourth-team.

Shenendeho­wa senior attack Michelle Clarkin and Niskayuna senior midfielder Julia Doriski were fifth-team all-state selections.

Bethlehem senior midfielder Sydney Smith was a sixth-team selection.

In Class A Averill Park goalie Megan Glanton was led the Section 2 selections, named to the first-team.

South Glens Falls senior attack Aly Fish was named to the second-team as Scotia- Glenville senior attack Tanya Leggiero was named to the third-team unit.

Ballston Spa senior midfielder Caitlin Wania was a fourth-team selection, joined by Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake senior midfielder Mollie Boone on the fifth-team.

Averill Park junior defender Jessica Haskins and South Glens Falls senior attack Amya Naja were both sixth-team selections.

In Class B, Holy Names junior attack Ava Panto was the top Section 2 pick, named to the first-team allstate.

Holy Names teammate senior attack MeganMarin­i and Schalmont junior attack Sofia Cassano were secondteam selections.

Mechanicvi­lle sophomore defender Ryleigh Hopeck and Voorheesvi­lle junior midfielder Amanda GIllenwalt­ers were third-team picks.

Catholic Central senior attack Claudia Fountain and Catskill junior attack Katie Bulich were both named to the fourth-team.

Mechanicvi­lle junior midfielder Jada Brown and Holy Names sophomore midfielder Bella Tronco were each named to the fifth-team.

Johnstown senior de- fender Abby Gottung was a sixth-team pick.

Also receiving honors in Class C were Schoharie teammates, sophomore midfielder Megan Krohn and freshman attack Katelyn Krohn to the secondteam along with Lake George senior attack Sarah Kohls.

Lake George junior midfielder GabbyMarch­ello was a third-team pick with Hoosic Valley junior attack Samantha Dickinson and Waterford-Halfmoon senior attack Annalise Rebel selected to the fourth-team squad.

Mayfield senior defender Taryn LaFountain, Stillwater senior midfielder Devon Wager, Hoosick Falls senior defender Josie Ryan and Bolton/ Warrensbur­g junior midfielder Leah Monroe were all placed on the fifth-team unit. In Class D, Fort Ann junior attack Sarah Paige and New Lebanon junior Brianna Shuhart were firstteam selections. Northville junior midfielder Brytney Moore and Fort Ann senior midfielder Amanda Godfrey were placed on the second-team. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville junior defender Bella Masi was named to the Class D third-team with New Lebanon junior attack Emily Schafer selected for the fourth-team honor.
