Saratoga Hockey off to quick 2-0 start
POUGHKEEPSIE 62, SHEN 52: Shen fell to Poughkeepsie in a non conference matchup on Saturday to kick the 2018season off. Jake Reinisch led Shen with 18points with three field goals from beyond the arc. James Altenburger was close behind with 15points. Poughkeepsie’s Thomas scored 21points. SCHALMONT 96, NOTRE DAME-BISHOP GIBBONS 58: Shane O’Dell totaled 31 points in Schalmont’s win over Notre Dame on Saturday. Along with O’Dell, LJ Randle had 18 points. Ranle was five for six from the free throw line and O’Dell was three for four. For Notre Dame, Williamson and Marchsio each had 15points.

SARATOGA 5, JOHN JAY 4 (OT); SARATOGA 5, NORTH ROCKLAND 1: The Saratoga Blue Streaks Varsity hockey team opened their season with two games played at the Ice Hutch in Mount Vernon, NY, winning both. Saratoga came back twice from two goal deficits for the overtime win over John Jay on Saturday. Andrew Blanchard scored the overtime game winner. Joe Amodio and Mack Ogden each tallied one goal and one assist. Xavier Clarke, Charlie Leary, and Quinn Leffler each had an assist. Brad Blake made 17saves. Sunday, Saratoga pulled away with a four goal win over North Rockland. Gary Blanchard tallied a goal and an assist. Andrew Blanchard, Jayden Hickey, Mack Ogden, and Riley Lefebvre each tallied goals. Brad Blake made 12saves. Saratoga starts the season 2- 0. CORTLAND HOMER 9, CHRISTIAN BROTHERS ACADEMY 2; CBA 3. FRANKLIN ACADEMY 0: CBA played two non league on the road this weekend. CBA suffered a 9-2loss Against Cortland Homer. Carson Curran And Ryan McMahon each had a goal. Cba won game two against Franklin Academy 3-0. Ryan Dollar had 2goals and Hunter Pemrick added a goal and an assist. Miles Demarais added an assist. The Brothers have their home opener against Lasalle in December 8. ALBANY ACADEMY 7, CAPITAL DISTRICT JETS 1: Albany Academy’s Connor Momrow and Dan Moshier each had two goal performances in the Academy’s win over the Shaker Coop Saturday. Ethan Duda, William Lenkowitz, and Anthony Sericola each had goals in the win. Noah Savastio had the lone goal for the Coop. Patrick Turnbull and Phillip Ryan combined for 48saves in the loss for the Jets, and Daniel guy made nine saves for Albany Academy.

BALLSTON SPA DUAL MEET WRESTLING TOURNAMENT RESULTS: Minisink Valley placed first on December 1at the Ballston Spa meet by sweeping the competition. Host Ballston Spa placed second, Miniskin Valley (5- 0) First Place; Ballston Spa (4-1) Second Place; Niskayuna (3-2) Third Place; Watervliet (2-3) Fourth Place; Red Hook (3-2) Fifth Place. WATERVLIET-HEATLEY 44.0, RED HOOK 42.0: Watervliet Wrestling picked up the match win over Red Hook at the Ballston Spa Dual Meet tournament on Saturday, December 1.
