Frear Park golf season passes available for purchase

TROY, NY » Mayor Patrick Madden recently announced season passes for the Frear Park Municipal Golf Course is available for purchase at the Pro Shop, 2701 Lavin Ct., Mon. through Fri., 9:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m., and Sat., 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

“For almost 90 years, the City of Troy’s Frear Park Golf Course has remained one of the Capital District’s most popular golf destinatio­ns. Continued investment­s and upgrades to the course will ensure high-quality conditions & experience for golfers of all ability levels. We look forward to welcoming players back this spring for another successful season of golf in the Collar City,” Madden said in a news release.

Troy residents qualify for daily discounts on greens fees with a Resident Recreation­al ID Card.

Cards can be purchased at the Pro Shop for $25.00 with proof of residency (state-issued driver’s license, cable or telephone bill, etc.). Previously-issued resident ID cards are subject to annual renewal.

Season passes are available at the following prices: Married Couples Resident: $950 Non-Resident: $1,500 Single Resident: $700 Non-Resident: $1,000 Senior (60 and over) Resident: $500 Non-Resident: $700 Junior (under 18) Resident: $275 Non-Resident: $500.

Located within historic Frear Park, the Frear Park Golf Course is one of the crown jewels of the city’s recreation­al facilities.

Originally designed as a ninehole course which opened in 1931, the course was expanded to 18 holes in 1964, designed by Robert Trent Jones, one of the game’s greatest course architects.

Enjoyed by thousands of players each year Frear Park remains a great attraction for local golfers, with twenty-seven establishe­d leagues and over 46,000 rounds of golf played annually.

Additional informatio­n on Frear Park Golf Course’s 88th season, including opening day, will be announced at a later date.
