La Salle Institute graduate Ronan Coughlin
Five Questions with Ronan Coughlin. Ronan Coughlin recently joined his five older brothers in graduating from La Salle Institute in Troy.
1How would you describe your overall experience at La Salle?
If I were to sum up my time at La Salle in one word, that word would be ‘ fulfilling.’ La Salle has provided me with a fulfilling education, fulfilling relationships, and a fulfilling athletic career. I feel as if I was provided with the best education possible. Overall, I am very happy with my experience at La Salle. It has allowed me to form close relationships with both my teachers and my peers. I will never forget all that La Salle has done for me.
2What was your favorite class?
I’ve had a lot of good classes at La Salle, but my absolute favorite classes would be chemistry (both AP and honors) and Spanish. Both of these classes are big influencers on what I want to study in college. My favorite teachers coincide with my favorite subjects. They are Mr. Leonard (Chemistry) and Mrs. Clause (Spanish). Both of them made their respective subjects interesting and very informative.
3What will you miss most about high school?
Definitely the cross country/track team. My experience on these teams has been phenomenal. My coaches were amazing and the guys on the team made the whole experience very fun. We all are very close. I will miss everyone a lot and will definitely see them run next year.
4What is your plan for the future?
My first plan is to attend Union College in the fall and majoring in biology and either dual-majoring or minoring in Spanish. I plan on running there all three season. I plan on doing something with endocrinology, whether that is research or medical school.
5What is your ultimate goal?
My ultimate goal is to have a family and to help those who suffer from diabetes. I want to help diabetics feel comfortable with their disease and not trapped. I ultimately want to help people.
