Ribbon-cutting ceremony set for Bundles of Luv Boutique

TROY, N.Y. » New local business Bundles of Luv Boutique is bringing high- quality hair to downtown Troy.

Bundles of Luv Boutique, located at 29 State St., offering textures, clip-ins, custom wigs and dying services.

Collar City native Shaeisha Rountree, owner of Bundles of Luv Boutique, created her business out of personal experience, research, testing, and her own struggles to find high- quality hair and extensions that worked for her.

Previously, in order to find a decent product at an affordable price, she had to purchase online, without touching or testing it, or by traveling down to New York City.

Sometimes products that came in the mail were not as advertised — glued, not sewn together — and deteriorated after a few washes.

Bundles of Luv Boutique carries affordable grade 9A virgin hair, offering four textures (water wave, deep wave, body wave and straight) in natural brown and blonde.

Clip-ins are also sold in addition to custom orders for wigs. The packaged loose virgin hair is perfect for weaves, thickening braids, and extensions.

In this business venture, Rountree seeks to cater to all women, ages, ethnicities, and sizes who may want to add more fullness, change their look temporarily or have a quick and easy daily routine.

Additionally, Bundles of Luv Boutique can provide hair solutions for those affected by medical conditions or treatments.

Rountree sews wigs without using glue and uses a stocking cap because it is most comfortable.

Furthermore, Rountree is able to educate her customers with proper care and washing for the product- which allows extensions and wigs to last for years.

Rountree said she never expected that she would open a business in her hometown. She went to Troy High School and actually grew up going to the very space that is now Bundles of Luv Boutique. She has fond memories of getting her nails done at the salon next door and coming to the former tailor shop at 29 State St. with her mom to drop off clothing.

Rountree has been a teacher’s assistant at North Albany Academy for the past four years. The staff, her family and friends have been very supportive of her next career.

Leading up to the shop’s grand opening, Rountree renovated the 500-squarefoot unit to include updated amenities, white ceilings and floors and just a touch of bling with sparkles around the HDTV and an elegant chandelier.

The cozy space required a creative way to display the products, so Rountree found a carpenter through social media to build her custom displays and a front counter.

“I hope to create access and convenience for women in the Capital District and in my hometown of Troy,” Rountree said in a news release. “You will find quality and affordability from someone who has shared similar struggles — I’m excited to help and sell quality products.”

Bundles of Luv Boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

A ribbon- cutting ceremony with the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District to mark the boutique’s grand opening is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24.
