Primary election voting overview

ALBANY AND RENSSELAER COUNTIES » Residents in Albany and Rensselaer counties will have plenty of options to vote for in the primary election on Tuesday.

Polls will be open from noon until 9 p.m. in both counties.

In the city of Troy, voters will choose between incumbent Mayor Patrick Madden and Rodney Wiltshire for the Democratic and Working Families ticket. Wiltshire will also appear on the Independen­ce against Tom Reale.

Residents of the town of North Greenbush will choose between Ronald Sinico and Mary Fabo for the Democratic ticket for town supervisor.

In the city of Cohoes, voters will pick between incumbent Mayor Shawn Morse, Councilman Steve Napier, Bill Keeler, and Peter Frangie for the Democratic ticket.

Voters in the Spindle City will also select between Councilman Bill Smith and Colleen Mayo for the Democratic ticket for the 1st Ward council seat. In the second ward, voters will pick between Councilman Don Russell and Kurt L. Leininger for the Democratic ticket. In the 3rd Ward, people will cast their vote either for Councilman Christophe­r Briggs or Marry Shanks for the Democratic ticket. In the 5th Ward, voters will choose between Adam Biggs and Kathleen Donovan for the Democratic ticket. In the 6th Ward, people will vote either for April Trudeau and Justin Alesio for the Democratic ticket.

In the city of Watervliet, people will choose between Councilman Frank McGrouty and Peter Torncello for the Democratic ticket.

According to the Rensselaer County Board of Elections website, people will be able to cast their vote at these various locations:
