Tuesday, Oct. 22 EAST SIDE SENIORS: Our next meeting is on Oct. 22, at 1:00, at the American Legion Post, Main St., Wynantskil­l. All meetings are preceded by the Pledge to the Flag, then lunch which will be provided by Team 3. We then enjoy playing Bingo or your game of choice. The Poestenkil­l Seniors hold weekly meetings every Tuesday at 1p.m. at the Sullivan Jones VFW Post in Poestenkil­l. All seniors are welcome. Kendall will perform a live, original score to accompany his silent film, “Dreams”. “Dreams” is a fictional silent film meant to challenge the intent of aspiration­s and their effect on individual­s and the world. The film follows three dreamers, each in different stages of their lives—one before accomplish­ing their dream, one in the process of trying to attain it, and one after achieving it. As more than 25% of seniors over 65live alone, it is important to be aware of potential dangers in the home, and to be prepared if an emergency does occur. Crime and the fear of crime create special problems for the elderly. Seniors are more vulnerable to crime, cons, and burglaries. This is a free presentati­on for seniors, as well as family members, friends and caregivers, to learn how to take proactive measures to protect the elderly, their property and their home against crime. BEER SHOWCASE: The Northeast Ski & Craft Beer Showcase will feature an all-new lineup of local and regional brews, wines and cider when it returns to the Albany Capital Center on November 1-3, 2019. The Saratoga Eagle Craft Beer Garden, presented by Great Lakes Brewing Company, will be open Friday from 4to 8:30p.m., Saturday from noon to 5:30p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3:30 p.m. (must be 21years of age or older with valid ID). Additional­ly, guests will be able to enjoy two varieties of mimosas, apple cider and orange, on Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon.
