hind me that have been really involved since day 1,” he added. “I think we’re going to do a great job, and I’m really looking forward to it.”

During his tenure on the City Council, Patricelli highlighted being able to help watch over the city’s finances more, improving city parks, starting meetings with local business leaders, along with helping to form other committees such as a Tree Committee.

Patricelli also mentioned how he has been able to connect well with residents on social media and an email list and that he recently came up with the idea to tape City Council meetings and posts the video on a website he created.

Patricelli said he intends to continue to do that and pledged that he would improve the city’s communication on social media and other platforms if he is elected as mayor.

A top priority for Patricelli is to fill the vacant city general manager position, which became vacant after Jeremy Smith resigned from the position last month. Mark Spain is serving as the acting general manager for the remainder of the year.

The city general manager handles the day-today operations of the city in a full-time position, although Spain is working part-time. The mayoral position is a part-time position that comes with a fouryear term.

Another item on Patricelli’s agenda next year is to work with newly elected Democratic councilman Peter Torncello to appoint someone to fill Patricelli’s current council seat. The City Council is comprised of three members, including the mayor.

Torncello beat Councilman Frank McGrouty in the Democratic primary in June and then ran unopposed in the general election. Torncello earned 1,198 votes (97.16%) on Tuesday. Torncello was not immediately available for comment on Wednesday.
