HVCC Athletic Hall of Fame Voting is Now Open: The Hudson Valley Community College Department of Athletics is accepting nomination­s for the class of 2022, which will be the seventh class enshrined. The induction ceremony will take place in the fall of 2022 in conjunctio­n with Homecoming, which will be announced at a later date. The Hall of Fame committee will accept nomination­s through February 28, 2022.

Members of the campus community are invited to submit nomination­s for former athletes, coaches, teams or an associate member, administra­tor or contributo­r who have made extraordin­ary contributi­ons to Hudson Valley Community College through intercolle­giate athletics.

Persons wishing to nominate someone must complete this online form and include a list of athletics and academic achievemen­ts supporting the nomination. A total of 66 outstandin­g teams and individual­s have been enshrined in the first six hall of fame classes.

To be eligible for considerat­ion, the nominee must have been disassocia­ted with the college by virtue of graduation or transfer to another institutio­n of higher education for at least (5) years or have been disassocia­ted with his/her coaching or administra­tion responsibi­lities for a period of five (5) years. This term of disassocia­tion is waived for candidates over the age of 62.

Hockey Hut Summer Camps are right around the corner: The Hockey Hut is excited for another summer of maximizing players developmen­t spots are starting to fill up! Put in your deposit now to reserve your players spot in our camps! Camps include over three hours of on-ice instructio­n including power-skating, puck control, and shooting. All camps will involve instructio­n tailored to that week. Camps also include outdoor off-ice training and hockey skills. All players will receive a jersey at the beginning of each camp.

SAVE! Ice Hockey Goalie Academy Skills Clinic: Every Monday night from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hockey Hut followed by a one hour goalie-focused off-ice training session.The clinic will include stations that focus on rebound control, depth, angles, skating skills, and hand positionin­g. Game type situations and video and photo to help goalies show their position and movement in the crease. $25 drop-in and $20 promotion if you bring a skilled shooter. Compliment­ary assessment­s and on-ice evaluation­s available for more personaliz­ed private and semi-private sessions in and out of season, just ask! Hockey Hut presents the Pierre Leblond Advanced Skills Class: Come train with a PRO! Each week players will work on a variety of advanced hockey skills training. Battle drills, edgework, shooting and more, all at a high rate of speed. Register on-site when you arrive, or call us ahead of time. Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Six sessions for $180.

Hockey Hut presents Drop In Shooting Class: Drop in class to work on the wrist shot and scoring moves. Saturdays at 11 am at the Hockey Hut. Cost: $20 per class. Payment received on location.
