COHOES, N.Y. » Stephen Pearcy came to party in Cohoes over the weekend, giving eventgoers an evening of Ratt’s greatest hits.

Fans of the ’80s glam metal band flocked to the historic Cohoes Music Hall to see Pearcy, the voice of Ratt, perform a selection of the group’s most time-honored tunes.

Local father-and-son acoustic/electric duo Kelly & Son of Glens Falls kicked off the rock show, successfully warming up the crowd for a fun night.

Shortly after, Pearcy took the spotlight in his shiny skin-tight pants and studded leather jacket, with an opening number of “Wanted Man” from Ratt’s 1984 album Out of the Cellar.

Pearcy and his bandmates proceeded to deliver a highenergy, 13-song set of fan favorites from throughout the Ratt catalog.

Highlights of the performance were “Way Cool Jr.” from Reach for the Sky, “Lovin’ You’s a Dirty Job” off of Detonator, “You’re in Love” and “Lay It Down” from Invasion of Your Privacy and another Cellar track called “Lack of Communication.”

The grand finale of the concert was, of course, Ratt’s most widely known “Round and Round.”

Nearly four decades since its release, “Round and Round” has remained in popular culture. Following a 2020 Geico TV commercial featuring Pearcy, the song charted again. It also appeared in the shows Supernatural, Stranger Things and Cobra Kai in recent years.

On Sunday, Pearcy spoke of the group’s longevity, declaring that he is celebrating “40 years of Ratt ‘n’ roll.”

Though his former Ratt bandmates are no longer joining him on the road, Pearcy marches on as “the voice of Ratt,” and he’s managed to maintain the same classic sound and look he’s been rocking since the band’s early days. And with his 1980s Sunset Strip Experience Tour still drawing fans out night after night, the frontman shows no signs of stopping any time soon.
