North Greenbush Police Department
Assault: On May 13, at 1:55 p.m., Rose Donnelly, of Troy, was taken into custody in the Home Depot parking lot following a report that she had stolen merchandise. Officers located her as she was walking to her car and attempted to speak to her. She jumped into her car and refused to exit or speak to officers. Officers had to remove her from the vehicle by force which resulted in one officer suffering a leg injury as she actively resisted their efforts. She initially refused to provide her name or any other personal information but officers identified her from previous incidents. She was found to have several active warrants, including two for failing to appear in North Greenbush Town Court on charges from a Nov. 22, 2022 arrest for stealing $240.72 in merchandise from Hannaford. She was charged with felony second-degree assault, misdemeanor petit larceny, misdemeanor second-degree obstructing governmental administration, misdemeanor resisting arrest, and misdemeanor third-degree bail jumping. She was arraigned at North Greenbush Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail on $10,000 bail. She is to appear back in that court at a later date.
Aggravated unlicensed operation: On May 13, at 8:20 p.m.Steven Pickett, of Albany, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Bloomingrove Dr. at North Greenbush Rd. when it was discovered that his license was revoked. He was charged with misdemeanor thirddegree aggravated unlicensed operation and multiple traffic infractions. He was released to return to court at a later date.
Warrant: On May 15, at 10:32 a.m., Patrice Silvestrini, homeless, was taken into custody at Albany Police Department on two active bench warrants for failing to appear on charges stemming from two separate incidents. The first was an arrest on Sept. 25, 2022, for misdemeanor petit larceny and obstructing governmental administration charges at Dollar Tree. The second was an arrest on Oct. 6, 2022 for felony burglary, misdemeanor petit larceny, and misdemeanor obstructing governmental administration at Hannaford. She had been incarcerated since those arrests on unrelated charges. She was arraigned at North Greenbush Town Court and released to appear at a later date. She was turned over to Rensselaer City Police Department on another warrant.
Aggravated unlicensed operation: On May 16, at 6:21 a.m., Zachary Harpis, of North Greenbush, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on Bloomingrove Dr. when it was discovered that his license and registration were both suspended. He was charged with misdemeanor third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanor operation while registration suspended, and a traffic infraction. He was released to return at a later date.
Petit larceny: On May 18, at 10:23 a.m., Sheharyar Khan, of East Greenbush, was taken into custody at the station following a brief investigation into a theft at Home Depot that had occurred on March 19. Staff had reported discovering
a shoplifting that was made possible by Khan who was an employee of the store. Staff alleged that Khan had voided a transaction for a friend which allowed them to take $106 in merchandise without paying for it. He was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny and misdemeanor seconddegree falsifying business records. He was released to return to court at a later date.
Suspended registration: On May 18, at 9:10 p.m., Yousef Zaid, of Albany, was taken into custody during a traffic stop on North Greenbush Rd. at Grandview Dr. when it was discovered that his vehicle's registration was suspended. He was charged with misdemeanor operation while registration suspended, and released to return to court at a later date.
Petit larceny: On May 20, at 6:22 p.m., Vance Dane, of Troy, was taken into custody in the parking lot of Home Depot following a complaint that he had stolen $317.19 in merchandise. Officers observed him in the lot moments after he had fled the store with the merchandise and he was taken into custody. He was charged with misdemeanor petit larceny, and released to return to court at a later date.
