Zimmerman-martin case a lesson in race-baiting

If you are an American, it is hard not to have heard about the George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin case. The media, public figures and even our government became involved in this case. The case was brought after Zimmerman shot Martin during an assault. The Seminole County Sheriff department investigated the case and found that Zimmerman did shoot Martin but found that it was self- defense and refused to charge Zimmerman. That is when the race baiting occurred.

Al Sharpton, the New Black Panther Party (NBPP), the NAACP and the media became involved; they pushed Attorney General Eric Holder to get involved. Working together, they had the Sheriff and the original prosecutor removed from office and replaced them with people that would charge Zimmerman.

The media with other organizations started making this a racial issue. They claimed that Zimmerman was white and since Martin was black, it was racial issue, the profiling of the black youth. They succeeded in turning a Hispanic male who has black family members and had mentored black children as an overly zealous white racist that profiled all black youth in his neighborhood.

Long before the trial began, the media and black organizations pronounced Zimmerman guilty beyond any doubt! They filled the airwaves, the Internet and newspapers with inflammatory statements, accusations and made Zimmerman a target. The New Black Panther Party put out a ‘Dead or Alive’ poster on Zimmerman, and the media gave ample time to the race baiting crowd.

If George Zimmerman had been black or pronounced his name “Jorge” there would be no case. The Media, Al “Tawana Brawley” Sharpton, the NBPP, the NAACP and the Justice Dept. would have not been involved.

There were over 180 black Americans shot in Chicago since the beginning of 2013. The media, NBPP, NAACP, Al Sharpton and the Justice Department did not say a peep about these tragedies because they were minorities who were shooting black Americans.

The media labeled George Zimmerman as a “white” Hispanic, so if we follow this logic, President Obama is a “white” black and not the first “black” president.

Why do certain people race bait? Well, in the case of Al Sharpton, the NBPP and the NAACP, if they didn’t race bait, they would be out of a job. Politician race bait to keep the people distracted and divided, so we take our eyes off the real problems caused by the politicians.

This incident was a tragedy for both parties but it was not a racial crime like certain individuals and organization want you to believe. When these race baiters start addressing all crimes, no matter what the race, then we can start to fulfill Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream.
