The Republican and Democratic Town Committees of Litchfield announced slates of candidates stacked with incumbents Tuesday.

The Republican Town Committee nominated Leo Paul Jr. as First Selectman, a position he’s held for 10 years in November, and two incumbent selectmen. The Democratic Town Committee nominated two incumbent selectmen, but did not nominate a candidate for first selectman.

“I’m extremely excited about another term the Republicans have provided me,” said Paul, Republican incumbent and candidate for first selectman. Before serving full-time as Litchfield’s First Selectman, the 15-year Litchfield resident worked as an international account manager at Sendant Mobility.

“Jeff and I together just want to say we will continue to work together for Litchfield,” said Demo- cratic Town Committee nominee Diane Knox, speaking about fellow incumbent and nominee Jeff Zullo.

Knox served on the Litchfield Board of Education for 12 years before her election as a selectman. She’s now completing her first term. Zullo is completing his second term as selectman, and previously served on the Litchfield Board of Finance for 12 years.

Republican Town Committee nominees Jonathan Torrant and Paul Parsons will both run for re- election to their seats on the Board of Selectman. Parsons is a two-term selectman who previously served for six years on the Litchfield Board of Finance. Torrant was appointed to the board of selectman in 2012 after the departure of selectman Chris Blake.

Other nominations made Tuesday night include incumbent and Democratic Litchfield Board of Education member Gayle Carr and Democratic newcomer Stacy Carosella. Vying for three seats, the Democrats will run against Republican incumbent Frank Simone and Danny Clock. James Katzin is not running again.

Incumbent board of finance member David W. Wilson runs against current-alternate seat board of finance member Anne Dranginis. Ed Weik, a Democratic full-term board of finance member is running for an alternate board of finance seat. Republican Sky Post is also running for as an alternate board of finance chair.

Two Republican incumbents run for their full-term seats on the planning and zoning commission, Susan Lowenthal and Tom Waterhouse. Republican Ed Doyle, now an alternate member of the commission, is running for a full-term seat now filled by William Post. Republicans nominated incumbent Ralph White and newcomer Denise Schlesinger for alternate seats on the commission.

Democrats nominated Barbara Putnam, a member of Protect Litchfield Action Network, and alternate seat candidate William Conti.

Steve Ardussi is running unopposed as Republican incumbent to the board of assessment appeals, as is Democratic incumbent James Stendronsky. David T. Wilson is running unopposed as a Republican incumbent for town treasurer, as is Lisa Losee. Republican incumbent Nancy Southard is running unopposed as Litchfield Town Tax Collector.
