WASHINGTON >> The 4th annual St. John’s Food Festival, already a summer tradition in Washington, will be held this year on Saturday, Aug. 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The St. John’s Food Festival was begun to sustain St. John’s outreach mission to the wider community, including the support of the SJ Emergency Fund. This fund, established in collaboration with the Town of Washington and administrated by the Town of Washington, supplements the Community Fund to meet the urgent needs of Washington residents. The Food Festival celebrates the diverse and hugely talented local food and food-related businesses that make our larger community so special: farmers markets, growers and producers, chefs, and shops. Participants will be County Wine, Loretta Stagen Floral Designs, NYCH20, The Olive Oil Factory, New Preston Kitchen Store, Starberry Farm, Sweeets, The Pantry, Everything Botanical, and many more. The blue grass band, Big Apple’achia, a huge crowd pleaser last year, will return this year to provide the perfect summer outdoor atmosphere. There is no admission fee to the Food Festival. The day will end with a BBQ, Pig Roast at 6:30 p.m. with all the accompaniments and a Micro-Brew Tasting. Tickets for the Pig Roast are $75 per person. Reservations required: call 868-2527 or register online: www. stjohnswashington.org (go to “Event Tickets”).
