Joseph Gerard Hebert, 88, of Skipwith, Virginia

SKIPWITH, VIRGINIA >> Joseph Gerard Hebert, 88, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, July, 24, 2013. Mr. Hebert died at his home in Skipwith, Virginia with his loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Henry and Donelda Hebert and his loving wife Evelyn Saville Hebert.

Born in Plainfield, Mr. Hebert lived most of his life in Torrington. Mr. Hebert is a WW II Veteran and served his country as a U.S. Marine. He is retired from the Torrington Company. Mr. Hebert was a proud brother of the Knights of Columbus and a life member with over 44 years of service serving in many capacities during those years. He proudly participat­ed in the LAMB Foundation; and spent many years helping children through county 4-H clubs.

Joseph is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Joseph G., Jr. and Sally Hebert of Ormond by the Sea, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and John Ratcliff of Skipwith; brother-in-law, Antony Mollica of San Jose, California; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Albert and Betty Saville of Castleton, New York. Six grandchild­ren and their spouses; ten great-grandchild­ren; nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at Gleeson Mortuary in Torrington on Tuesday, July 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Torrington, on Wednesday, July 31, at 10 a.m. with a graveside service.
