LITCHFIELD >> The Litchfield Historical Society is continuing walking tours through September. Each tour lasts about an hour — make sure to bring a bottle of water, wear comfortable shoes, and meet at the Litchfield History Museum at 10 a.m. for each tour. Registration is required for walking tours.
Saturday, Aug. 6: Wolcott and Meadow Streets. Wolcott and Meadow streets have an interesting history that has not yet been covered during a walking tour. Learn more about the families and businesses that lined the blocks.
Saturday, Sept. 24: Evolution of the Litchfield Green. The Town Green used to be an area where animals grazed and the church stood. Today, it is a beautifully landscaped spot that hosts many different events. Learn more about how the Town Green developed and what it meant to early residents.
