LITCHFIELD >> The Litchfield Historical Society is continuing walking tours through September. Each tour lasts about an hour — make sure to bring a bottle of water, wear comfortabl­e shoes, and meet at the Litchfield History Museum at 10 a.m. for each tour. Registrati­on is required for walking tours.

Saturday, Aug. 6: Wolcott and Meadow Streets. Wolcott and Meadow streets have an interestin­g history that has not yet been covered during a walking tour. Learn more about the families and businesses that lined the blocks.

Saturday, Sept. 24: Evolution of the Litchfield Green. The Town Green used to be an area where animals grazed and the church stood. Today, it is a beautifull­y landscaped spot that hosts many different events. Learn more about how the Town Green developed and what it meant to early residents.

Walking Tours are free for members and $5 for non-members. Space is limited and registrati­on is required. Payment is required at time of registrati­on. To register, call 860-5674501 or email registrati­on@litchfield­historical­society.org.
