Dr. Frank Kuzmin achieves top honor in implantology

TORRINGTON >> Dr. Frank Kuzmin, D.M.D., of Torrington Dental Care, earned Diplomate status within the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) on Feb. 16. The awarding of Diplomate status is the highest honor a professional society such as the ICOI can bestow upon a dental professional in oral implantology. Only three percent of its membership has achieved this designation.

Diplomate status represents excellence in the field of implant dentistry and is achieved through efforts in education, research, clinical experience, in addition to ICOI Advanced Credential Committee interviews and testing.

Dr. Kuzmin pursued advanced training with over 1,000 hours of continuing education in order to achieve this distinction. Dr. Kuzmin completed a year of study at Rutgers University, School of Dental Medicine in their implant maxi course. Following this, he studied under implant dentistry pioneer, Dr. Carl Misch at the Misch Impant Institute, where he was awarded the honor of Misch Implant Surgical Fellow. Additionally, Dr. Kuzmin studied with Dr. Arun Garg through his masters and live patient courses at Implant Seminars. Following completion of his studies, Dr. Kuzmin successfully passed a written and oral exam in order to attain Diplomate status.

Dr. Kuzmin joins only a very small number of general dentists in the country to achieve this top award in implant dentistry.
