Police: Online date leads to sex assault, stabbing

-

A 21-yearold man faces sexual assault and assault charges after allegedly attacking a woman he met online, police said.

Just before 1:30 this morning, the Litchfield County dispatch center received a 911 call and dispatched officers to High Street in the area of Funston Avenue for a female who said she was stabbed in the abdomen, police said in a news release.

Officers located the injured victim and she was transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and later transferred to Hartford Hospital where she was in stable condition, police said.

The victim reported she arranged a date with a male online and met him at 11 Culvert St. Police said the male was later identified William Hill, who lives on the second floor of that address.

The female victim reported there was a verbal altercation which led to a physical altercation that resulted in her being stabbed in the abdomen, according to the release.

According to police, the female victim was able to get away from Hill, run down the street and call for help. Detectives worked on the investigation for several hours conducting interviews and processing evidence, police said.

Hill faces charges of first-degree sexual assault, first-degree assault and tampering with evidence.

Hill was held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
