Liz Spring is artist of the month
TORRINGTON » The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (CHH) Auxiliary is featuring the artwork of Liz Spring as its artist of the month. This special show is on display now through early August in the hospital’s main lobby hallway, 540 Litchfield Street, Torrington.
The public is invited to view and buy the works during regular visiting hours as part of the auxiliary’s ongoing “Artist of the Month” program.
A portion of the proceeds from sales of the artwork support the CHH Auxiliary and CHH.
Spring is a contemporary artist and part-time school teacher for Region 10 in Harwinton. She received a Master’s Degree from the University of Hartford and has participated in shows and exhibitions in the Connecticut area. She has lived in New York and Connecticut, and is now residing in Harwinton with her daughter, dogs, horses and a wayward cat.
Her present work is a mix of pen and ink and a variety of painterly techniques. She is constantly experimenting with new styles and media and is influenced by the world around her. Spring’s quirky bird pictures are a reflection of the humor she finds in her own environment and reflect the joy she sees in daily life.
The auxiliary’s “Artist of the Month” program has been featuring paintings, photographs, and artwork each month from local artists for over 25 years. The more than 200 member supporters assist in raising money for the hospital through dues, donations, volunteering at the gift shop, and a variety of events including an annual fashion show.
