Enjoy a Slambovian Halloween in Hartford
HARTFORD — “A Mid-Autumn Night’s Dream” Halloween Ball, with the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, will be presented Sunday, Oct. 29 at Infinity Hall, Hartford.
Dark Faerie magic with Shakespearean overtones make for a Slambovian Halloween; the band will go “Into The Woods,” mixing it up with faerie folk, wood elves, trolls, creatures of the night, a Halloween fantasy hosted by ‘ghost writers’ from the past.
The group is performing “New Love Waltz,” which has never been performed by the band, but appears on the rare album by The Ancestors ,a favorite New York City band.
Often called an “Americana Pink Floyd,” the Slambovian Circus of Dreams original acoustic rock is defined by UK’s Maverick Magazine as “the cool end of Americana.”
The Grand Slambovian Halloween Ball has been performed in London, New York, and all over the east coast since 2006. The Slambovians feed their fans with unforgettable shows like these. Formed in Sleepy Hollow, New York over a decade ago, the Slambovians pioneered the americana genre, staying on the fringes of the music industry.
Winning support from indie radio and press since their inception, fans fueled their career from the ground up to now international status. Having headlined major music festivals and venues across the US, Canada and UK, this band has a devoted cult following.
The Slambovians are: lead singer-songwriter Joziah Longo, Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, flute), Kolson Pickard (guitar, trumpet), Sharkey McEwen (guitar, mandolin), Paul Silverman (keyboards), Felipe Torres (drums, percussion), and bassist, Bob Torsello.
Their influences include Waterboys, Bob Dylan, Bowie, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, The Decemberists, Incredible String Band and Leonard Cohen. Learn more at www.slambovia.com
