LIBRARY PROGRAM: For the final program to honor the opening of the Hodge Memorial Library in 1937, the Minor Memorial Library in Roxbury is presenting the film “Home of the Brave: When Southbury Said No to the Nazis,” a documentary about how the town of Southbury refused to allow the establishment of a Nazi training camp in town, Thursday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. at the Hodge Library, 4 North St., Roxbury. The film will be followed by a discussion with Scott Sniffen, the film’s creator and director. Admission is free. The library is handicapped-accessible. WORLD AROUND US SERIES: A Special Presentation, World Around Us Series, will be held Oct. 26, 6 p.m. at the Scoville Memorial Library. “The Climate Beyond The White House: Tribalism, Sustainability and a Cooler Future,” presents Eban Goodstein, director, Bard Center for Environmental Policy, is presented in collaboration with the Salisbury Association Land Trust. The event is free.
OPENING RECEPTION: Five Points Gallery will hold two events in conjunction with its tree new exhibitions, running Oct. 26-Dec. 2. An opening reception will be held on Friday, 6-8:30 p.m.; and an artists’ panel discussion will take place in the gallery at 6 p.m. on Nov. 17. Gallery hours are Thursdays through Mondays, 1-5 p.m., and by appointment. There is no admission charge.

WONDER DRIVE: Landmare Community Theatre will hold its annual fundraiser, Wonder Drive, in anticipation of its 2018 season of shows, on Friday, 6:30-8 p.m. at the Thomaston Opera House, 158 Main St., Thomaston. Guests will get an “inside peek” at the new shows with actors performing songs, as well as a tasting by Litchfield Distillery and hors d’oeuvres. TOWN MEETING: Cornwall’s Annual Town Meeting will be held on Friday, 7:30 p.m. in the Cornwall Consolidated School. The town annual report will be presented, the five year plan approved and an ordinance change for Park and Recreation Commission members from elected to appointed.
SALISBURY FORUM: Akhil Reed Amar will speak on “The Constitution Today” at the Salisbury Forum on Friday, 7:30 p.m. at the Salisbury School, Route 44, Salisbury. The program is free and all are welcome.
FREE COMMUNITY MEAL: All are welcome to come to a free Autumn Community Meal on Friday, 6-7 p.m. at North Congregational Church, 17 Church St. North, New Hartford. HALLOWEEN PARTY: An afterschool Halloween party with games and crafts will be held at the Beardsley & Memorial Library, 40 Munro Place, Winsted, Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. Teens ages 12-16 are welcome and encouraged to wear costumes. CEMETERY TOUR: The Gunn Historical Museum’s 10th annual Washington Green Cemetery Tour will take place on Friday, Oct. 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a flashlight, dress warmly, wear comfortable walking shoes, and carpool since parking is limited. The rain date is Oct. 29. While there is no fee to attend the Washington Cemetery Tour, donations are greatly appreciated.
CRAFTY KIDS: Crafty Kids Club, making CD Scratch Art, will be held Oct. 27, 4:15 p.m. at the Harwinton Library. FALL FESTIVAL AND FAIR: The annual Fall Festival & Craft Fair of the First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, Torrington, will be held Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Featured will be over 30 crafters and artisans, homemade pies, country store, candy, attic treasures, books and the highlight of the fair, a silent auction. TUESDAY REGISTRARS OF VOTERS: All Registrars of Voters' offices in Connecticut will hold a statewide voter registration session for those who have turned 18, become a U.S. citizen, or moved to Connecticut. This registration session is also open to members of the Armed Forces, and former Armed Forces members who have been discharged within the calendar year.
