Community Health Center opens student center at Pearson
WINSTED — Community Health Center, Inc. recently celebrated the grand opening of its newest school-based health center at Pearson Middle School in Winsted.
CHC Senior Vice President and Clinical Director Margaret Flinter and Winsted Superintendent of Schools Melony BradyShanley spoke on the significance of Pearson to CHC’s growing community of school-based clinics. The event was held Thursday.
School-based health centers are a vital part of CHC’s mission to engage and support local communities, according to a statement issued by CHC. These health centers allow students to see medical professionals who can help treat and diagnose their health issues, leading to fewer absences in school and overall better quality of health and education for students. CHC’s new school-based health center will provide medical, behavioral, and intermittent dental health services for the 296 students attending Pearson Middle School.
