YOUR NEWS Tieman earns Doctor of Psychology degree
LITCHFIELD — Margaret “Maggie” Tieman, a resident of Litchfield and Webster, N.Y., earned her Doctor of Psychology PsyD degree in sport and performance psycology from the University of the Rockies, an online graduate school specializing in the social and behavioral sciences.
On Oct. 21, in addition to earning her degree, she was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society. Membership is by invitation only and applies to top-performing graduate students in all fields of study, based solely on their academic achievements.
At the time, Tieman was also honored with having herr dissertation, titled “Coordinator Leadership Style and Referee Job Satisfaction in NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball,” selected as Quantative Dissertation of the Year. Tieman is the daughter of Fred and Edna Tieman of Litchfield. She is engaged to marry Michael C. Schmiidt of Webster, N.Y.
She is a Division NCAA women’s basketball official, working 13 athletic conferences from Maine to Hawaii. A graduate of Litchfield High School, she earned a bachelor of science, magna cum laude, from the University of Vermont and a master of science degree in educational leadership from Central Connecticut State University.
A John Maxwell certified professional speaker, Tieman helps individuals and organizations employ positive mental strategies to improve overall performance.
