KEEP AN EYE ON

Trouble with the triple. UConn has made at least 10 3-pointers in three of its last four games. Unfortunately for the Huskies, they’ve allowed opponents to reach doublefigures in treys in each of the past five games — Wichita State (14), Tulsa (11), ECU (13), Cincinnati (10) and Memphis (11).

“We’ve got to fire out at 3-point shooters,” said coach Kevin Ollie. “If you can’t keep guys in front of you, you’re gonna be in rotations. So, it’s for us to keep our guys in front of us, 1-on-1, guard our yard so we can stay out of rotations. Hopefully, we can do a better job keeping the ball in front of us.”

Bad screens. The Huskies have also had a penchant for setting illegal screens lately — or, really, all season.

“A lot of youth,” Ollie explained. “They want to set good screens. They’ve got good intentions, but we’ve got to give them space. I think we run right up on their back and we’re not giving our opponent time to turn. We’ve been working on that, and hopefully we can get that this game.” Bid-stealer? It’s been a strange season for Temple. The Owls have three wins over current Top 25 teams — No. 11 Wichita State, No. 14 Auburn and No. 18 Clemson — as well as South Carolina and Wisconsin. Of course, Temple has also lost to La Salle, George Washington and Tulane. If there’s a bid-stealer at next week’s AAC tournament, however, it could be the Owls.
