Police: Man caught with Xanax, Suboxone, crack cocaine
TORRINGTON — A Winchester man is accused of selling Suboxone after being caught in possession of a series of drugs, police said.
Joseph F. Lindsey, 25, of 13 Mountain View Terrace, was arrested Feb. 19 and charged with three counts of illegal possession of narcotic, possession in a school zone, sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in a school zone.
According to a probable cause report, Torrington police “observed activity that is consistent with a transaction of drugs for money” on the evening of Feb. 19 near Christopher Road and East Main Street, within 1,500 feet of Oliver Wolcott Technical High School.
Officers made contact with Lindsey and “observed several signs of nervousness paired with the odor of marijuana,” according to the report.
Police found Lindsey was in possession of Suboxone, Xanax, 2.74 grams of marijuana, THC concentrate, a gram of crack cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, according to the report. He did not have a prescription for either the Suboxone or Xanax, police said.
“During the investigation, it was determined through admission along with examining a text message conversation that the observed activity was Lindsey selling an individual (three suboxone) for $20,” said an officer in the report.
Lindsey was arrested, released on a $10,000 cash bail, and scheduled to appear in Superior Court on Feb. 28.
