The Register Citizen (Torrington, CT)
Harmony for Hunger concert May 5
Event to celebrate 20th anniversary
For the 20th consecutive year, the music committee of Winsted’s Second Congregational Church will present its Harmony for Hunger concert, this year at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 5, in the sanctuary of the church.
As in the past, all proceeds will be split evenly between the Open Door Soup Kitchen and the Winsted Salvation Army Food Bank.
Over the years the concerts have raised thousands of dollars to support both of these important local organizations, thanks to the many artists who have donated their time and talent to present a variety of musical styles to the enthusiastic audiences in attendance.
Among the artists and groups participating this year are: Karl Gallmeyer; the Laurel City Singers; the Second Congregational Senior Choir; Gilbert School Flute Choir; Kate, Debra & Debbie, with Dave Kenna; Chris King on organ; and the Pat MacDonald Bluegrass Band.
Tickets will be available at the door: $10 adults, $5 seniors and children, and $20 per family.
The church is at 800 Main St., Winsted.
