The Register Citizen (Torrington, CT)
Haven Strings Quartet concert free
WOODBURY — The Friends of Woodbury Senior Community Center will present a free concert, featuring the Haven String Quartet, Sunday, May 6 at 4 p.m. in Woodbury’s Senior Community Center’s O & G Community Room.
The Haven String Quartet has been featured in the New York Times and National Public Radio, and termed “exquisite” by the New Haven Register. Quartet members include violinists Yaira Matyakubova and Gregory Tompkins, violist Annalisa Boerner, and cellist Philip Boulanger
The May 6 concert is the last in the 2017-18 series and open to the entire community. Past programs have delighted concert goers with music ranging from jazz to classical to Broadway, and tunes from the American songbook.
The concerts receive financial support from the Woodbury Bethlehem Community Music Foundation through the Thomaston Savings Bank, the Leroy Anderson Foundation, the Woman’s Club of Woodbury, and the generous contributions of music lovers. The concerts are free; however, free will donations will be gratefully accepted.
