City man facing additional sex assault charges

TORRINGTON — A 21-year-old city man who has been in jail since last year was served two additional arrest warrants Tuesday at Superior Court.

The first warrant for Aziah Dwan, of Albert Street, is for firstdegree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor with sexual contact and risk of injury to a minor. The court set bail at $150,000.

The second arrest warrant charges Dwan with second-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor with sexual assault. The court set a bail at $200,000 for this warrant.

Dwan was originally arrested Nov. 8, 2017, for violation of probation, and judicial records show he was incarcerated at Manson Youth Institution in Cheshire. Additional charges were brought against him on Jan. 16, 2018, for second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor with sexual contact, seconddegree strangulation and risk of injury to a minor. His bail was set at $100,000 for those charges, which he was unable to post.

In February 2018, Dwan pleaded not guilty of assaulting a 15year-old girl. While in custody, police said, he admitted that he had sex with two girls under the age of 16 within the last month.

Dwan’s recent arrest warrants are currently sealed.
