TSO CONCERT: The Torrington Symphony Orchestra will present “Rising Stars,” on Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. in the Warner’s Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. VETERANS TRIBUTE: Civitan Club and Boy Scouts of Torrington are planning a tribute to fallen veterans at Coe Park on Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will include presentation of colors, Pledge of Allegiance, invocation by Steve Darr of First Congregational Church. Keynote address will be provided by Paul Bentley, Veteran, Eagle Scout, Author and lifelong Torrington resident. The public is welcome. Immediately following the ceremony, Boy Scouts and leaders will team up with Civitan Club members to visit Hillside and New St. Francis cemeteries where new U.S. flags will be placed on graves of our fallen local veterans. Flags are tagged with a small label which designates installation by Civitan Club and the mailing address for donations.

ANNUAL TOUCH-A-TRUCK:O &G Industries will hold its annual Touch a Truck event, May 12, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at 900 South Main Street. O & G has arranged for offsite parking at Iffland Lumber, Ron’s Auto, and the Bogue Road plant with bus transportation provided by All Star. The event caps Safety Week and features over 20 different trucks and vehicles plus vehicles from the Torrington Fire Department and Police Department. PAINT NITE FUNDRAISER: Paint Nite at Bakerville Library, New Hartford, will be held Wednesday, May 23, 7-9 p.m. All materials supplied. You don’t have to be a painter to produce a nice piece.
