WOMAN’S CLUB BANQUET: The Torrington Woman’s Club will celebrate the culmination of its 95th year with the annual Spring Banquet on Monday, June 4, at Fairview Farm Golf Course. Officers for 2018-2019 will be installed at that time. Entertainment will be provided by the husband wife team, “The Willie and Jan Band.” Social hour starts at 11:30 a.m. with dinner served at 12 p.m. Tickets are $30 per person; reservation deadline is May 30. INDOOR PICNIC: Memorial Day Indoor Picnic with entertainment will be held at the Winsted Senior Center, May 23, 12-2 p.m. “Golden Oldies” will entertain us with favorite music of Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra and more. PAINT NITE FUNDRAISER: Paint Nite at Bakerville Library, New Hartford, will be held Wednesday, May 23, 7-9 p.m. All materials supplied. You don’t have to be a painter to produce a nice piece. PUBLIC WORKS FOOD DRIVE: The Torrington Public Works Department joins the Fill-A-Public Works Truck Food Drive during National Public Works Week, from May 21-25, and will support the Friendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington. Non-perishable food can be dropped-off at City Hall, the Sullivan Senior Center, the Torrington Armory or the Arthur Street Public Works Garages.
BINGO: Sons of Italy, Center Street, Torrington, hosts bingo games on Wednesdays, 4-9:30 p.m. with dinner at 5 and calling at 6. For information, call the lodge at 860-489-1226.

CHESS CLUB: The Litchfield County Chess Club meets Thursdays at the Torrington Library, 12 Daycoeton Place, Torrington, from 5:30 to 7:45 p.m. on Thursdays. PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Roxbury Congregational Church will hold a Pancake Breakfast to help with costs for its Service Trip to the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Reservation in South Dakota, May 26, 8-10 a.m. The cost for the breakfast is $5 per person, with a family maximum of $25.
