UConn, Yale programs earn perfect APR scores

A total of 16 UConn programs posted perfect Academic Progress Rate scores for the 2016-17 season, while the field hockey, golf, men’s ice hockey, men’s tennis, women’s tennis and women’s cross country programs had perfect multiyear marks of 1,000 from 2013-14 to 201617. Women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s rowing, women’s ice hockey, women’s lacrosse, softball, men’s soccer, women’s soccer, women’s track and field and volleyball also had perfect scores for the 2016-17 season.

The men’s basketball team recorded multiyear APR of 995 while the football team posted a 980 multiyear mark, the highest since the APR program was started by the NCAA in 2004. It is also the fourth year in a row the multiyear mark has increased. The football team’s 981 number for the 2016-17 season is the second highest in program history.

Yale’s baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s fencing, men’s and women’s golf, men’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, women’s rowing, women’s fencing, women’s gymnastics, softball, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball each had perfect scores for the 2016-17 season.

Fairfield’s baseball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s golf, men’s swimming and diving, men’s tennis, women’s basketball, field hockey, women’s lacrosse and softball teams also posted perfect marks during the 2016-17 season; as did Sacred Heart University’s baseball, men’s and women’s fencing, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s lacrosse, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s volleyball, men’s wrestling, women’s basketball, women’s bowling, women’s cross country, field hockey, softball, women’s swimming and diving programs.
