Let Litchfield’s voters decide

The Register Citizen (Torrington, CT) - - OPINION -

The Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust heartily supports the recommendation of the Town Hall Review Committee to renovate the Litchfield County Courthouse to be the new town hall and municipal offices at a cost not to exceed $7.6 million.

To alleviate concerns of the Litchfield Board of Selectmen and bring this most important decision to referendum, the Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust, Inc., will make a donation of the Litchfield County Courthouse to the Town of Litchfield for its use as the Litchfield Town Hall and municipal offices, with no reverter or other restrictions.

It is time to give the decision to the voters.

— Eileen Schmidt, on behalf of the directors and officers, Greater Litchfield Preservation Trust, Inc.
