There is really no better time than now at the beginning of a new year to be minding your own business. Good to Great by Jim Collins writes “how to take a good organization and turn it into one that produces sustained great results.”

Our goal is to do just that, by reaching far beyond our region, and very importantly working together to make your business even more successful at home.

You are cordially invited to attend the meeting tomorrow evening at the Chamber. We all need to get going, so please join us to hear about the April 6-14 adventure to Greece – the Land of Gods and Heroes. At 5 p.m., Ben will be presenting the adventure that is home to an extraordinary collection of archeological sites as well as stunning mountainous scenery and charming villages where a traditional way of life has remained unchanged for centuries.

On this splendid cultural journey, trace 5000 years of Greek history while exploring the country’s archeological treasures. Walk in the footsteps of Socrates on the Acropolis and examine artifacts of Athens’ Golden Age at the Acropolis Museum, sail through the scenic Corinth canal and enjoy the insights of the local guest speakers on the contemporary Greek economic and social scene.

The trip features air transportation, first class accommodations, superb cuisine, sightseeing tour program, cultural discoveries, professional tour guides from the region, deluxe motor coaches and baggage handling and transfers. Cost is $2,849 for air and land and includes 9 days, 7 nights, hotels, meals and day trips.

At 5:30 p.m., Ben will share the excitement of the Scandinavian Capitals: Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. This trip is Sept. 9-16, including 8 days, 6 nights, hotels, meals, day trips and airfair. Cost is $3,399. If you are enticed to travel to one or both of these locations, you just have to attend.

We also have work to do at home to make your business successful. Do you want to grow your business? Your Chamber membership can help! We have planned a special event for new and seasoned Chamber members.

Join us for an Open House on Jan. 23 from 5-7 p.m. at the Chamber to hear what we are doing, just to benefit you. There will be food, beverages and music at no cost except your valuable time. If you bring a potential member, you will receive a gift from us.

The Chamber Works for every type and size. You can gain insights in business management, develop skills to motivate your employee, make contacts and promote your business.

There are opportunities for all of us as we work together to make this an even better place in which to live and work. Looking forward to seeing you.
