- STAFF REPORTS

TORRINGTON — GoHealth Urgent Care, with its partner Hartford HealthCare and affiliate of Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, opened a new walk-in clinic Monday in Torrington at The Shops at Sky Top at 996 East Main St., according to a release.

It replaces the hospital’s former urgent care walk-in center at 1598 East Main Street, which closed Sunday.

“We are thrilled to open our first Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care center to patients in Torrington, further expanding our partnership in Connecticut with Hartford HealthCare,” said Sarah Arora, northeast regional president of GoHealth Urgent Care, in the release. “We remain committed to our mission of providing unparalleled experiences and high-quality urgent care to people in places where they live and work, and we look forward to bringing this same level of care to the families of Northwest Connecticut.”

The opening expands GoHealth to 16 locations. Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care plans to open a new center at Corbin’s Corner in West Hartford in early February.

“We want to thank all of the staff and providers of the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital walk-in center over the years for their dedicated work and support in providing a critical healthcare option to local patients. The announced changes and enhancements to the hospital’s urgent care services are part of a larger strategy for Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, the Northwest Region and across the Hartford HealthCare System,” said Dan McIntyre, senior vice president of Hartford HealthCare Northwest Region, also in the release. “Our partnership with GoHealth Urgent Care continues to enable us to serve patients right here in our community.”

The new center will offer the same services: onsite laboratory and X-rays, online check-in, electronic medical record integration, same day/walk-in visits and short wait times, as the CHH urgent care walk-in center.

Further, the new center will provide virtual visits with a Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care provider by mobile device, tablet or computer from wherever a patient is located in Connecticut. All Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care centers offer expanded hours and are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, including holidays.
