‘Hay Fever’ is next Hotchkiss theatrical offering

-

LAKEVILLE — The Hotchkiss Dramatic Association is pleased to present Noël Coward’s classic comedy of manners, “Hay Fever,” Feb. 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m.

Parker Reed, instructor in English and theater at The Hotchkiss School, will direct the production. Noël Coward, an English playwright, composer, actor, and singer, earned a reputation for his wit and his satire of high society. “Hay Fever” features some of Coward’s most memorable characters, Judith Bliss, a retired actress, her husband David, a writer, and their grown children, Simon and Sorel — and of course their unsuspecting house guests. “Hay Fever” continues this season’s theme of rebellion and aims to offer the audience the gift of “Bliss”: a fantastic farce under 90 minutes.

All performances take place in Walker Auditorium. Tickets are $10; $5 for students and seniors. Cash or check is accepted and patrons may buy tickets at the door.

No reservations are necessary. The Sunday matinee performance will benefit a charitable organization to be announced.

Founded in 1891, The Hotchkiss School is located at 11 Interlaken Road in Lakeville. Walker Auditorium is located on the lower level of the main building.
