Raiders Rally tops $7,000 in donations

-

TORRINGTON — Students at Torrington High School are hard at work collecting donations for their school-wide charity fundraiser. The Raiders Rally for Torrington has raised more than $7,000 in donations.

The Raiders Rally encourages all THS students to get involved in community service. This year’s Rally will be held at THS on May 24. By collecting donations, students are able to participate in a four-hour team-building field day.

All donations and funds raised are divided between three Torrington service organizations: the Susan B. Anthony Project, Friendly Hands Food Bank, and the Torrington chapter of FISH.

Juniors Olivia Smith, Sarah Walton, and Violca Shehu are leading a group of student volunteers to plan and execute this charity event, the fourth of its kind. Donations have been made by school families, local businesses, and teachers.

Anyone interested in donating can contact Erin Sullivan at Torrington High School, at esullivan@torrington.org. Donations made will help additional students to participate in the day’s community activities.
