2: Hits by Wallingford’s Paul Gozzo and Christian Fedko as UConn topped Houston 4-3 on David Langer’s RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning in the opening game in the American Athletic Conference tournament.

4: Wesleyan student-athletes named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large First Team. Carter Hawthorne (lacrosse, 3.84 GPA), Zack Murillo (wrestling, 3.90 GPA), Tim Sestak (hockey, 3.85 GPA) and Victoria Yu (tennis, 3.98 GPA) were all honored as were Quinnipiac’s Queenie Lai (golf, 4.0 GPA) and Conn College’s Olivia Haskell (swimming, 3.77 GPA).

4: Players from Connecticut universities to earn NFCA All-Region recognition as Fairfield’s Amanda Ulzheimer and Lauryn Rhinehart were named first and second team Northeast selections, Sacred Heart’s Fallon Bevino of Milford joined Rhinehart on the Northeast second team and Hartford’s Danielle Rocheleau was a second team MidAtlantic pick. Torrington’s Ali DuBois, who pitched Boston University into the NCAA tournament, was a Northeast first teamer and Ansonia’s Lauren Pitney from Manhattan College earned Northeast second team honors.

4: Career-high goal total for Lucas Cotler in Yale lacrosse team’s 19-18 overtime victory over Penn in NCAA quarterfinals as he posted five-point games in both NCAA tournament contests.

6: Victories by Yale crew program at Eastern Sprints Regatta, including a win by nearly six seconds in the Varsity Eight Grand Final.

7: Extra-base hits by Quinnipiac’s Andre Marrero in 13 at bats to earn MAAC baseball player of the week honors as he had four doubles and three homers among his eight hits.

9: Hits in a three-game winning streak by former Amity High star and UConn freshman catcher Pat Winkel who was 9 of 14 with 11 RBIs and four extra-base hits in a victory over Rhode Island and a pair of wins over Tulane.

11: Hits by Trinity’s Matt Koperniak in NCAA Division III baseball regional including eight in back to back games against Salve Regina and Babson.

13: Goals for Quinnipiac women’s hockey transfer Taylor Girard during her sophomore season at Lindenwood.

24: Hits in final 16 games of the regular season for Sacred Heart’s Jake Frasca.

43: Starts for Aaron Falzon for Northwestern men’s basketball program. The forward will play at Quinnipiac during 2019-20 as a graduate transfer.
