WASHINGTON — H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut will hold ITS annual Kid’s Fun Day on Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

There will be pony rides, arts and crafts, horseshoe decorating, cupcake decorating, face painting, necklace & bracelet making, tshirt tie-dye, pony grooming, and an obstacle course. The event will also have food and refreshments, with free admission and free parking.

Visitors can also meet Thunder Heart, a 13 year old, 18-plus hand American Warmblood gelding, who was rescued last summer after he was indirectly struck by lightning. Thunder is still recovering from his injuries, and likes to go for long hand-walks to help strengthen his muscles. He is available for sponsor with an experienced horse person only.

Guests can also meet Zeus, a stunning sorrel Quarter Horse gelding that came to H.O.R.S.E. a few years ago. Zeus is 16.1 hands, 20 years old, and loves to go for hand walks or a quiet stroll on the trail. Zeus would make a wonderful companion horse and is available for adoption or sponsor.

Joey, a handsome elderly pony gelding who loves all sorts of attention from hand walks on the trails to hanging out on the lawn and being groomed, will also greet guests on Saturday. Joey is very sweet and gentle, which makes him the perfect choice for children. Joey is available for sponsor only.

The tack shop will also be open for those looking for saddles, blankets and other equipment. H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization located at 43 Wilbur Road, Washington. For more information, go to www.horseofct.org or call 860868-1960.
