You won’t find ghosts or goblins, skeletons or Jackolanterns at our Chamber! However, to get you into the spirit of Halloween, I thought you might benefit from trick or treating with us.

No trick when we tell you that your business concerns can be addressed by representatives from SCORE housed right here on Kennedy Drive. Please call us to schedule an appointment with one of the counselors. You’ll enjoy the treat because there is no cost to you other than your valuable time and energy and believe it or not, you’ll get the best advice on how to attack a business issue.

What a treat to know that the Chamber is campaigning to recruit new members. Thank you to the Membership Committee and Ambassadors who will convey the benefits of Chamber membership to you. No tricks about this important campaign to build a stronger business community. Call me if you are curious because they are some special deals available to all who join this month.

Treat yourself to one of the programs planned by the Northwest Connecticut Young Professionals Organization. The purpose of the organization is to attract and retain young professionals, while encouraging community service and professional development. No tricks from this energetic group. We are proud of them for building momentum and enthusiastically supporting this corner of the state. You, too, can join them. Call Lauren for details.

It will surely be a treat when you attend the 2019 Economic Summit on Nov. 19 at the Torrington Country Club. No tricks at all…just an opportunity to hear an update on the economy from Don KlepperSmith, Data Core Advisors and Pete Gioia, CBIA.

The biggest trick is to successfully communicate the legislative agenda to our elected leaders. We invite you to work with us to create the 2020 agenda. The Government Relations Committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Chamber. It will be a treat if you join us. We could use your input!

There are treats all year long. Many opportunities await you because all of us have common interests, challenges and concerns. The Chamber is more than just meetings and events – it’s about being part of the business community with mutual benefits. We are not even scary because in times like this we are working harder and smarter. Our conviction remains firm that there are amazing treats awaiting us and there are few tricks we cannot tackle.
