Talk politics with Hearst writers, editors over a beer
Hearst Connecticut Media will host a conversation with political writers Thursday at Half Full Brewery in Stamford, giving the general public an opportunity to have their burning questions answered over craft beer.
The event, which takes place from 79 p.m. Thursday, marks the return of Pints and Politics to Half Full Brewery.
“Here at Half Full Brewery, our mission is to lead and inspire ideas and community through purposedriven products, places & experiences,” said Zach Kyte, general manager at Half Full Brewery. “We launched Pints & Politics in 2018 in partnership with Hearst‘s CT Politics team and had such a positive response from our community that we decided to bring it back this year.”
The event will feature a casual panel discussion and Q&A with Connecticut Journalism Hall of Fame political writer and editor Ken Dixon, columnist and associate editor Dan Haar, and Stamford Advocate Managing Editor Tom Mellana. Audience participation is highly encouraged. Readers can submit questions in advance by emailing kkrasselt@hearstmediact.com, or contacting the panel participants on Twitter.
“This is an interesting time in state, local and national politics, and this is a great chance for readers to ask questions about many of the most important issues facing our communities every day,” said John Ferraro, Hearst Connecticut Media managing editor, news.
Half Full will feature guest beers from Hanging Hills and Kent Falls breweries, and the League of Women Voters will be onsite to help attendees register to vote.
In addition, Half Full will donate $1 from every pint sold between Oct. 2127 to Drink Local, Think Global, an organization that provides clean drinking water to people in developing countries.
