Games to watch THURSDAY
Morgan at Rockville, 5:30 p.m.: Bonus points would have to fall the right
way, but there’s a chance the Rams can clinch the top seed in Class M by the end of the week. That would have to start with a win here. Watertown at Naugatuck, 7 p.m.:
While the injury-plagued Greyhounds have fallen out of the Class LL race, Watertown can keep itself alive in the Class M race with a win in this game, a makeup from Oct. 4 and the early-season Eastern Equine Encephalitis scheduling chaos.
FRIDAY
Stafford co-op at SMSA co-op, 6
p.m.: This one has bearing on a couple of races. The Bulldogs, with one game to go after this, can get themselves into the Class S race with a win. SMSA, looking to finish off a 9-1 regular season, can clinch a Class M playoff spot with a win and avoid having to sweat the bonuses. Berlin at New Britain, 6:30 p.m.: The Redcoats have a path to the playoffs without winning their regular-season finale here, but, like SMSA, the other way would be a lot less stressful. New London at Killingly, 6:30 p.m.:
Same thing for the Red Hawks, who could conceivably be in by the end of the night without a win, but the other way is easier. The Whalers are mathematically alive in Class L at 4-4, though, and any miracle run for them starts with a win here. Windsor Locks co-op at North Branford, 6:30 p.m.: The winner keeps itself mathematically in its playoff race, Class M for Windsor Locks, Class S for North Branford. The loser is in trouble.
SATURDAY
Hall at Conard, 1 p.m.: The winner, as both teams close their regular seasons, may well end the day in the top eight in Class LL in points accumulated. Staying there by the end of next week will be tricky, but hey, got to get there first.
Thames River at ATI, 2 p.m.: The team that wins this game will finish second behind Bullard-Havens in the CTC, but it’ll also control its destiny for a Class M playoff berth.
