College foundation encourages donations
Dear Friend of the Northwestern Community College Foundation,
We are all living through unprecedented times this spring. We are delighted to report that at Northwestern we have successfully transitioned to a fully online semester, with 100 percent of our classes continuing online despite the Coronavirus closing the campus in March.
As we are sure you are aware, our students have endured one of the most difficult crises in modern U.S. history, not only in terms of their health, but also economically. Too many of our students have witnessed their family members getting ill, even passing away. At the same time, they are losing their jobs, possibly their homes and often they do not even have enough to eat. While enduring all their personal stress, our students are trying to keep their grades up and finish the semester so they can eventually graduate into a new future that they will help create.
Your generosity to the Northwestern Community College Foundation has helped so many Northwestern students of all ages and economic backgrounds continue their education both here at Northwestern and at the four-year colleges and universities to which many of our students transfer.
The Foundation provides many opportunities for the college student body and for our local communities, including the art and music history classes, many cultural activities like The Mad River poetry festival’s unique speakers and authors, musical theater performances, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and the Student Emergency Fund. Your donations and support of the Northwestern Community College Foundation are needed more than ever this year to help support and educate the people of northwestern Connecticut. Education is truly the key to help all of us build a better future.
We hope that you will join us in this effort and provide a donation to The Northwestern Community College Foundation. Thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to our communities.
