Defending Borck champ Duffy ousted

Connor Goode from Glastonbury Hills Country Club eliminated defending champion Charlie Duffy (Tashua Knolls GC) in the quarterfinals of the 51st Borck Junior Golf Tournament Tuesday at Country Club of New Canaan.

Goode will face Luke Karpiej (East Hartford GC) in the semifinals on Wednesday morning. William Whittaker (Club at River Oaks) rallied to defeat Kyle St. Pierre (Newtown CC) in the quarterfinals. Whittaker will face Jackson Roman (Shuttle Meadow CC) in the other semifinal. The final is scheduled to be held Wednesday afternoon.

On the girls side, defending champion Sophia Sarrazin (The Patterson Club) defeated Catherine Wallace (Brooklawn CC) to reach Wednesday’s semifinals. Sarrazin will face Jensie Nicholas (Tashua Knolls GC).

Mia Scarpati (Ridgewood CC), the 2018 Borck champion and a finalist last year, eliminated Julia Bazata (Tamarack CC) in the quarterfinals and will face Molly Mitchell (CC of New Canaan) in the other semifinal.
