Gilligan promoted at Salisbury Bank
LAKEVILLE – Aidan Gilligan has been promoted to Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer at Salisbury Bank.
Gilligan started with the bank in February 2018, and has been working as a commercial lender covering the bank’s Berkshire County market.
“Aidan’s positive attitude, professionalism, customer service, and insatiable desire to learn have been identified by senior management as some of his strongest attributes – all of which exemplify the Bank’s core values,” according to a statement. “In addition to his commercial lending responsibilities, Aidan has been, and continues to be, instrumental in administrating the Bank’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) initiative since the first quarter of 2020. Aidan is also a member of the Leadership Development Program and active with volunteerism in his local community.”
Gilligan resides in Sheffield, Mass., with his wife and two children.
King named brokerage manager at William Pitt Sotheby’s
LITCHFIELD – Julie King will serve as brokerage manager for William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty’s brokerages in Litchfield County, overseeing the Washington Depot, Litchfield and Kent offices. She will also co-manage the Salisbury brokerage with Tim Donnelly, who manages the company’s two brokerages in Berkshire County, Mass., according to a statement.
King joined the firm as an agent in 2018 and was named assistant brokerage manager in 2020. She initially entered the real estate industry after her own quest for her family’s second home in Litchfield County led her to evaluate the unique needs of second home buyers and how best to serve them. After leaving her career on Madison Avenue and moving full time to Litchfield County, King became a Realtor in 2015 specializing in second homes. She received top seller awards in 2016, 2017 and 2018, according to the statement.
A native of Long Island, N.Y., King resides in Litchfield County with her husband and two sons. She is a founding member of Minds in Motion™ Shepaug, a non-profit student enrichment event that enables students to explore their interests in the arts, sciences and technology, member of the board of The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens, President of the Shepaug Valley School PTO, and a volunteer contributor to Washington’s Economic Development Commission. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Imaging Arts & Sciences from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Operation Fuel adds deputy, policy director positions
HARTFORD — As part of its ongoing effort to best serve an ever-increasing number of residents facing energy crisis in Connecticut, Operation Fuel has expanded its team to include Deputy Director Darlene Yule and Director of Policy and Public Affairs Gannon Long, according to a statement.
Yule, of Bloomfield, will work in the deputy director role with Executive Director Brenda Watson to provide leadership, direction, and oversight for the organization’s strategy, program development, project management, program implementation, and overall agency operations. Yule is a graduate of Russell Sage College and holds a Masters of Public Health from University at Albany.
Long, of Hartford, is policy and public affairs director. Her responsibilities include leading Operation Fuel’s government affairs, public policy, and advocacy initiatives and programs. She is a graduate of the University of Chicago and an MBA candidate at the University of Connecticut.
Ocean State Job Lot collects thousands of coats
Ocean State Job Lot’s 2020 “Buy, Give, Get” program resulted in the collection of 42,000 winter coats, nearly 12,000 more than last year, to be donated to veterans in need this winter, according to a statement.
From late October through early January, the “Buy, Give, Get” program at the closeout discount retailer’s 142 stores in nine states encouraged customers to purchase a quality, brandname men’s or women’s winter coat for $40.00 (retail value: $80.00-$120.00) and give it back to the store for donation to a veteran. In appreciation of the donation, customers received a $40.00 Crazy Deal Gift Card to be used for a future purchase at Ocean State Job Lot, effectively allowing customers to donate winter coats for free, according to the statement. .
The coats are being distributed to veterans’ organizations throughout the Northeast, in partnership with a multi-state network of more than 50 veteran support agencies, organizations, assistance programs and action groups serving New England, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
