LAPIERRE – Jacqueline (Lagueux) LaPierre, 94, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family in her home. She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. “Pups” LaPierre, Sr. for 65 years. Born March 4, 1927 in Canada; the daughter of the late Philippe and Alma (Plante) Lagueux. Jacqueline was born and raised in Canada and moved to the United States in 1953 when she married Robert. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r and sister. More than anything she loved spending time with her family. Jackie had a heart of gold and was always putting everyone else first and herself last. She loved unconditio­nally. She had many many friends and cherished the time she spent with them. She spent endless hours in her flower garden and especially loved her stargazer lilies. She planted a yearly vegetable garden, loved cooking and baking, traveling, sewing, playing cards and was known for her homemade jelly, crepes and meat pies at Christmas. She had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. She was a communican­t of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was a classic beauty and will be deeply missed. She will be remembered for her big heart, homemade meals and the special birthday cakes she made. She also enjoyed being a volunteer at the voting polls during the elections. She leaves her cherished children; Robert LaPierre, Jr., and wife Wendy of Farmington, Mary Ann Lynn Sabia and husband Michael of New Hartford, Kathy LaPierre-Escobar and husband Carlos of The Woodlands, TX and Patsy LaPierre of Clearwater, FL; beloved grandchild­ren, Michelle Carter-Craine and husband Daniel of The Woodlands, TX, Danielle Witte and husband Mikey of Terryville, CT, Ashley LaPierre and husband Andrew Nielsen of Washington Crossing, PA, Grant LaPierre and wife Stephanie of Boston, MA; three great grandchild­ren, Layla and Carter Craine and Atlas Nielsen. Friends may call on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Montano-Shea Funeral Home, 922 Main Street, Winsted from 9 – 10:30 a.m.; following CDC guidelines for social distancing and masks required. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Church, Winsted at 11 a.m.; the church will be livestream­ing on their page. Burial will be held at the convenienc­e of the family.
