4 cute Conn. towns to visit this holiday season
There are so many cute towns in Connecticut, trust me. There are cute towns for summer, cute towns for fall and cute towns for winter festivities.
We couldn't leave you hanging with just five cute Connecticut towns for holiday charm.
So here's part two. Read on for four more Connecticut towns bursting with festive cheer.
Milford
Aside from having the second-longest town green in New England, Milford is also home to festive holiday spirit. The town green is decorated with lights and tinsel figures, great for strolling through on a romantic evening or chasing excited young ones on a Saturday afternoon.
The town also has plenty of quaint eateries including Café Atlantique, a cozy coffee shop with plush armchairs, plenty of holiday decorations and an open piano tucked under a window. The café also features interesting drink options – like the seasonal gingerbread mocha – and breakfast and lunch fare, such as crepes and panini sandwiches.
Greenwich
Greenwich has its own annual Reindeer Festival at Sam Bridge Nursery and Greenhouses where guests can have their picture taken with Santa and some reallife reindeer. Downtown Greenwich has plenty of options for Christmas shopping with posh stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue, Tiffany & Co. and J. Crew. There are also independent boutiques like Black Petunia and Out of the Box, which sell trendy clothing and accessories for women. For a quick bite to eat, check out The Granola Bar for a healthy brunch or Meli Melo for crepes all day.
Madison
Madison is the epitome of quaint New England coastal charm, especially at Christmastime. The town’s bookstore and café, R.J. Julia Booksellers, was recently featured in the set for Netflix Christmas movie “The Noel Diary” starring Justin Hartley ("This is Us”), Bonnie Bedelia (“Parenthood”) and Treat Williams (“Everwood”).
The town is also home to some classic New England seafood joints, including Lenny & Joe’s Fish Tale and The Wharf Restaurant.
Chester
Every Sunday between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Chester hosts its own holiday market with goods from local farmers and craftsmen and special menus at restaurants in the village. Mrs. Claus also makes an appearance, strolling around the market and greeting visitors.
The town is also home to Little House Brewing Co., a microbrewery in a picturesque house in the center of town. The brewery offers events throughout the week, like trivia and local shopping showcases, and features beer and cheese pairings.
